Michelle began her journey at Sawston Sports Centre in 2004 as a part-time Receptionist, working just four hours per week when her daughters were young.

Over the years, Michelle gained a vast range of qualifications, including the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, Level 2 Swim Instructor, Level 2 Fitness Instructor, Aquafit Instructor, National Pool Management Qualification, IOSH Managing Safely, and an NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management. Her dedication to professional development supported her progression into roles as a part-time Swim Instructor and Duty Manager before being appointed full-time Sports Centre Manager in 2010.

As Anglian Learning expanded, Michelle recognised the opportunity to bring the Sports Centres together under one cohesive identity. Her vision led to the launch of Anglian Leisure in 2022, when she proudly stepped into the role of General Manager. Michelle is passionate about the continued growth and development of the Anglian Leisure centres and is excited about building an even stronger future for the communities they serve.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with family and friends and travelling whenever possible. She is a run leader for a local running group, enjoys practising yoga, and is always keen to try new forms of exercise — a true reflection of her commitment to health, wellbeing and leading by example.
