I have been within the Trust since 2019, starting off in Anglian Learning, then moving to Anglian Leisure in 2021. I started as a Leisure Attendant at both Netherhall and Bottisham, then becoming Duty Manager at both, to Assistant Manager at Bottisham and now Manager.
My interests specifically lie around inclusion within sports. I know from experience the impact of discrimination in participating in sports and physical activity and I can only imagine that there are still many out there who gets discriminated not just on their disability but on their health conditions or mental health to name a couple. One of the questions I would ask myself as manager is how can I make this centre more attractive for those who steer clear of exercise and physical activity in general.
Another question I would ask myself is how can I maximise the use of every facility? Such as the pool; could we with careful planning bring back the inflatable, could we look to set up canoeing training, could we introduce water polo as a public session, or could we find an underwater hockey session fit for the dimensions of the pool.
As you can see from my passion I do indeed have so many ideas ready to get out onto paper in the future, that requires proposals after proposals, perhaps business plans. But all it takes is an idea, one idea, one vision that forms the seed, the foundation to a successful provision.
