Anglian Leisure Sawston strongly recommends being on time for the start of class and full completion of the warm up to reduce the risk of injury, and anyone arriving late can be refused participation in the class at our instructor’s discretion.

Guide to Exercise Classes

Bootcamp – a high-intensity circuits-based class. This class will push you to your limits, improving fitness, burning fat and helping with strength and muscle tone

GP Fitness – This circuit fitness class is suitable for people who like to exercise in a group with an instructor to guide them but also needs an individual program . Each station can be adapted to suit the individuals health needs. This class is aimed to improve cardiovascular, coordination, strength, mobility, balance, flexibility and fatigue levels.

This class is also suitable for people recovering from Cancer , as well as other GP Referral conditions.

Kettlercise Express – a very effective non-stop, high volume, moderate intensity class using kettlebells to strengthen core and stability, and to tone and burn fat through the whole body.

Inclusive Physical Activity – a multi-sport group for adults with disabilities or additional needs led by a qualified and experienced instructor. The aim of the class is for participants to work to their own ability and fitness level, with all sporting activities adapted to suit the needs of the individual participants. This class will also help individuals to learn new physical and social skills. The indoor sessions involve a combination of sports and activities including boccia, throwing and catching and cricket.

Pilates – a body conditioning routine that may help build flexibility, muscle strength and muscular endurance. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, developing a strong core and improving co-ordination and balance.

Rebounding – a traditional low impact, high energy fitness class, performed on a mini trampoline, that provides a cardiovascular challenge, while strengthening and toning your whole body.

Revolutions – indoor cycling to music. By varying your resistance, this class includes sprints, hill programmes and standing. Ideal for improving fitness levels and fat burning.

StongHer – a supportive strength training class designed for women in perimenopause and menopause. We focus on building muscle, improving bone health, boosting metabolism, and increasing confidence through safe, effective resistance training. Perfect for all fitness levels – come as you are and leave feeling stronger.

Strength and Balance – a gentle, supportive class designed to help older adults stay strong, steady and confident in everyday life. The session focusses on improving muscle strength, balance, posture and mobility, using resistance bands and functional movements.The class is friendly, welcoming and suitable for all abilities – work at your own pace with guidance from a qualified instructor.

TripleFit – a strength class to work the upper, lower and core areas of the body. Includes a short cardio workout. Moderate intensity, suitable for all levels of fitness.

Yoga – combines varied postures and movements to help with strength and flexibility and breathing techniques to help with physical and mental well-being.

Zumba – a choreographed dance and aerobics class; involves easy to follow moves aimed to create a dynamic and exciting fitness programme
